Union’s attacks on Minnesota businesses don’t hold up

In a December 28 commentary for the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Charlie Weaver of the Minnesota Business Partnership responds to the St. Paul Federation of Teachers’ misleading attacks on Minnesota businesses.

These attacks on business are nothing new for the teachers’ union, nor are they limited to St. Paul, but they are disheartening. If the union is concerned about the state of our schools, they should focus their efforts on solving our greatest education challenges. That includes closing Minnesota’s achievement gap, which remains among the worst in the nation, and closing St. Paul’s achievement gap, which remains among the worst in the state.
